The ever-evolving blog. This blog is 6 years old and the first 5 years you will find a lot of the information below. Currently, I am pretty stabilized on medication. It’s been almost 2 years since a hospitalization. I’ve completed a year long DBT program. I am moving out in less than a week and transferring to a local University to earn a Bachelors Degree and hopefully more. With these changes, I anticipate bumps in the mental health. Although I’m primarily working on gender identity issues/gender dysphoria and where my sexuality fits in with that now.
Hi I’m Marci, you can call me MM if you like. I struggle with a lot of mental health issues most notably Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), anxiety, and depression. I also struggle with psychosis, which is currently managed by medication but there are plenty of posts on it. Been diagnosed with everything in the book, by the book I mean the DSM (the psychiatrists book to diagnosis mental disorders) been on over 40 different medications starting at age 10, been in and out of inpatient hospital settings, out patient programs, classes, groups, workshops, therapy, ECT (shock therapy) and surgery (VNS). There isn’t much I haven’t tried to “get better.” This blog will be about getting better (at least hopefully) and my triumphs and trials. If you want to see a password protected post, e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or comment and I’ll review the post and let you know.
The Marci: I do various “blog challenges” in hopes that it will give a bigger picture of who I am other than my mental illnesses; because yes I am a person too! I also regularly do updates on how I am doing and the occasional angry rant. 😉
The Mental Health: I include resources, current research, and current news on many different mental health and mental illness issues.
The More: You will also find art, poetry, song lyrics, book reviews, LGBT posts, spirituality, and whatever else happens to be on my mind or in my heart.
