Trying to stay friends with everyone in a big group is hard.  Probably even hard for people without issues.  So I went back to group last Thursday and it went pretty good.  Tonight someone from group invited me over to a house she’s house-sitting; so I knew it’d be more than just me.  I thought I’d try going, I had a lot of anxiety because I didn’t know who would be there.  The invite was via phone/text not Facebook so it’s not like I could see who was going.  I went and the event was okay, I’m still hesitant because it’s hard to feel comfortable there- but I like the people and it went good.  I saw some people I hadn’t seen in awhile.  I guess it’s hard to know where I fit in, in a larger group.  I do better in smaller ones.  But I like to go to larger group events every once in awhile, I guess I just have to be no where near the edge if I go.  Then it will be successfull.

I’m so glad you went and had a good time!

Even in large groups there are small groups. I used to be in a group of 10+ friends. I was close with 2 of the girls (one of who is my best friend) and 2 of the guys. Close meaning we would talk and hangout separate from the group. There was one member that I actually rarely spoke to one on one. So, large groups are harder but I think as long as you are all on good terms it’s ok if you’re not close with everyone.
