MIA challenge

So here are the round up people who participated in responding to my seventh prompt on the 30 Days of Mental Illness Awareness Challenge. If you participated and I haven’t added your post here, please pingback to the main challenge page with prompts or tag your post 30MIAC.

Day 7: Do you think there are any triggers or patterns to how your illness(es) effects you?

From Pieces of Me which includes lists separated into things that always, sometimes, and rarely trigger her.  An unique way of looking at triggers.

From All That I Am, All That I Ever Was which includes a quote and link to a list of A-Z triggers, a link to the post of the biopsychosocial method treatment plan to help with triggers/patterns, as well as link to exercises to empower your triggers.  Judging my these posts written prior to my prompt dealing with triggers and patters I would say Addy definitely has triggers and patterns that he is well aware of.

From Remember to Breathe which includes triggers related to food, appearance, and safety

From Battling the Demons Within which talks about how some illnesses never seem to go away but others are symptoms free for years.

From A Life of Madness who combines answers to prompts 7 and 8 together, she talks about triggers being everywhere and everything  (Which I can certainly relate to) and specifically a friend’s suicide.

From Beyond Normal who sees triggers such as pressure and abandonment issues.

From Second Chances who doesn’t believe depression has triggers due to it’s biological nature but mentions triggers for anxiety such as feeling out of control and loud noises.

From Searching for a Quiet Mind which includes the fact that different diagnoses play off of each other or one triggers another she also mentions how having her period can trigger symptoms as well, which is common in women with mental illness.

And my answers as well talking about triggers that are more nature related which are thinks like sleep and energy and more nurture type things like abandonment and family issues.

From Pride in Madness who talks about injustice being a trigger and that being wronged in the past has her thinking people are wronging her now.

From That’s Crazy who talks about seeing pattern in anxiety easier than seeing patterns in the depression but

“I might know some of the triggers, some of the patterns that these creatures conform to; however, I still maintain that these are creatures unto themselves, I can’t fully expect to understand them.”

From Crazy Gurl who talks about yelling being a big trigger for her, she also says while she knows some of her triggers new ones are appearing all the time.

From Fashion Anxious who identifies triggers for her anxiety such as: traveling, shopping centers, restaurants, and interviews.

From Only See Your Good Side who says:

“Now I have accepted that I can be triggered by my own lifestyle and the things around me, I can look back at the last few years of my life and see that yes, I was often triggered by my situations, by life events and, most commonly, by my alcohol consumption which has now calmed down considerably”

From Lost on a Street Called Ethel who talks about PTSD symptoms triggering her schizophrenic symptoms. She also says:

Unwelcome touch, people sitting too close to me, and long periods of time in public, are all triggers. If I have to hold The People in for too long, I feel like I am going to explode and have to escape the scene.

**Thanks to all who participated and continue to spread the word**

Also mylovelyborderlinepersonalitydisorder who has Bipolar and Borderline Personality Disorder and answered prompts 1-8 in a comprehensive post.

Also Surviving by Living who has depression and seizures and groups her prompts 4-7 in a comprehensive post..
